Pet legislation update: AB 241 marches forward

AB 241, Assemblymember Nava’s bill to restrict the number of intact animals a breeder can maintain to 50, has passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and is being scheduled for a full Assembly vote.

AB 241 was written to address the issue of puppy mills. The intent of the legislation is to reduce the number of potential breeding animals allowed to be kept at a single location.
